A Yin yoga class usually consists of a series of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body – the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine. These areas are especially rich in connective tissues. The poses are held for up to five minutes, sometimes longer.
Vinyasa Flow is an intense and flowing type of hatha yoga that improves strength, flexibility and concentration. Each class will include a short meditation, breathing exercise (pranayama), surya namaskara (sun salutations) and end in a deep relaxation (savasana).
In a restorative yoga class, you will find mellow movements, long-held postures often supported with props such as blankets and blocks, and a general atmosphere of ease and calm. Poses may be held anywhere from two to 20 minutes. Although restorative yoga is sometimes conflated or confused with yin yoga, the practices differ.
Restore & Stretch
In this meditative class, variations of seated and supine-lying yoga poses targeting primarily the hips, pelvis, and spine are held for long periods of time to free up restrictions in the joints and deep layers of connective tissue.
Yin & Sound

One of the most well-liked modern forms of yoga is vinyasa, which is often known as “flow” due to the ease with which the positions flow into one another. It’s a broad category that covers a variety of yoga styles, including Ashtanga and power yoga.
Even though you’re moving at a lower intensity when practising vinyasa flow, you raise your heart rate and put more strain on your body for longer. Vinyasa yoga has significant positive effects on the cardiovascular and lymphatic systems. Here at Holixir Studio, our Vinyasa Yoga teachers can make the experience even more rewarding and beneficial for you.
Yin yoga emphasizes your deep connective tissues, such as your fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones, while “yang” yoga concentrates on your muscles. It takes longer and is more contemplative, giving you time to focus inward and become aware of both your thoughts and your body’s physical sensations.
Yin yoga helps you stretch and lengthen those infrequently utilized tissues because you hold poses for longer than you would in other traditional forms of yoga. It teaches you how to breathe through discomfort and sit with your thoughts.
